Many thanks and much appreciation to those of you who contacted us to help the mom with two kids we posted about last week. Lots of you reached out to donate and we were able to give them towels, dishes, silverware, a big box of pots and pans, pillows, bedding, kitchen items, a bed, kitchen table and coffee table plus some food and cash. This family is now stable and they are extremely grateful. We thank each of you and the Catholic community for your love.
Please help support the teens of Christ the King on their summer mission trip by purchasing your Fourth of July fireworks from one of their downtown Richland stands:
Griggs Ace Hardware on George Washington Way
The old Albertson’son Lee Blvd.
The stand will be open tomorrow, Thursday, June 28th through July 4th. Be sure to look for the white “FACTORY OUTLET FIREWORKS” stand in front of Tommy’s Taproom (not the TNT stand on the corner).
“I have been amazed that some are utterly in doubt as to whether or not the Holy Virgin is able to be called the Mother of God. For if our Lord Jesus Christ is God, how should the Holy Virgin who bore Him not be the Mother of God?”
Young children, in their own fashion, infuse us with a festive joy and praise God. The Children’s Choir, also known as the Kids Praising God (KPG) Club, is open to children from 2nd-5th grades. They rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00PM and lead the congregation in singing at one Mass every month, rotating among the different weekend Masses throughout the school year.
For more information, please contact the parish office at 946-1675.
A pamphlet on Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation, “Rejoice and Be Glad! The Call to Holiness,” will be available this weekend at CK.
It will answer questions such as:
Is holiness impossible for most of us?
Are just saints, and maybe some priests, called to be holy?
Do we ever think that being holy can make us happy?
Be sure to pick up a copy after Mass! For a the full text of the exhortation (downloadable and printable .pdf format), click HERE. Also, the text is available for purchase bounded in book form HERE.
And a message from Fr. Mike Schmitz on becoming holy:
