SPOTLIGHT ON: Christian Initiation for Children

CIC is a sacramental preparation program for older children (4th grade and up) who have not been baptized, made their first Reconciliation or received their first Holy Communion.  The program involves home study with a parent or guardian as well as attendance once a month, October through April, at CIC class.  The children are taught a basic understanding of their faith and their role as Catholic Christians.  Students also must regularly attend Wednesday night religious education classes (or attend Christ the King School) simultaneously with the CIC program.

If you would like more information about Christian Initiation for Children,  please call Michelle Portsch at the parish office (946-1675).

SPOTLIGHT ON: Liturgy Environment

liturgical environment

The Liturgy Environment (LE) ministry works on the decor of the interior of the church building.  This environment begins in the narthex, extends to the Gathering Space, and into the nave and sanctuary of the church.  This ministry works under the guidance of one of the priest and sees to maintain a welcoming atmosphere while keeping within the themes of the liturgical calendar.  Throughout the year, the LE team prepares floral arrangements for the sanctuary and chapel, maintains greenery in the narthex, provides wall art for the Gathering Space, and decorates for special seasons including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.

All who enjoy working with flowers and decorating are invited to serve in this ministry.  Those interested in volunteering for the Liturgical Environment ministry are encouraged to call the parish office at 946-1675 for more information.
